As a proud Auburn University fan and alumnus, I wanted to share a picture with you:
This is the east endzone a few minutes before last weekend’s game with Mississippi State University. It was taken with my phone, so it’s tough to make out details. Let me see what I can do…
Remarkably detailed from a phone camera probably 250 yards away. But in case you can’t read the bottom part, it says “FLU & TDAP. Protect yourself against influenza and pertussis. Get your flu and TDAP shots.” And then a reference to ADPH.org, which is the Alabama Department of Public Health.
It would have been a better picture if I had taken it at the end of the game, when it said Auburn 41, Miss State 34. But I was too busy dancing in my seat with the slightly confused four-year-old boy behind me.
If any of you read about this game, you will read about how surprised everyone is that Auburn won, or you’ll read how Spirit (our majestic-but-stupid bald eagle) flew into the glass in front of the box suites during the pregame show. (He’s fine, and you can’t even see him blushing under those feathers.) But remember that a crowd of 88k was staring at this sign for four hours, and maybe it reminded a few of them that they don’t want any goddamn pertussis.
War eagle, baby!

UP YOURS, JENNY FUCKING MCCARTHY!
*ahem* I feel better now.
